Bustin out his alter-lemurian styles, lone whips up the sound you can expect to hear if you check out one of his dj club sets, a journey of different musical styles, offering up pieces of techno, dubstep, electro, and more from names like Kode9, Clark, and Plaid, as well as one of his own tracks as lone and another from a side project with his friend and long-time collaborator Keaver & Brause under the guise of Kona Triangle.
Its been a big year for lone, the euphoric new wave sounds of 'lemurian' was recieved with critical acclaim, making no.2 in Warpmart's albums of the year roundup, the same position on Bleep and flagged up in the best of 08 by Kode9, XLR8R (alongside Portishead!) and Boomkat.
lone Kicks off the dealmaker label's 09 release schedule with the uber cool 'Cluster Dreams' 4 track 12" featuring an emotive remix of Midnight Feast by anomalous Mush/Warp artist Bibio.

2008: The Rollercoaster Year Roundup / A Merry Christmas to all
Added: 22/12/2008
Crazy year. every low has had its equalling high, with the independent and major sectors alike unable to predict just what the hell is around the corner each time a new release lands on the desk. Thankfully we have strong support and people and who can see where we're at, what we're trying to do here, and who really get behind the Dealmaker artists and label showing their love and buying the music. So, I take this opportunity to share some big big love, nuff respect and a massive thank you for supporting independent music.
2008 has seen the introduction of Red, Full Fat and lone who have each enjoyed huge appreciation across the globe for their album releases Fingerprints and lemurian. True to the Dealmaker style each release being at the cutting edge in the their own right, Red's form of tune creation earning him the no.1 spot on Youtube in November and lone's new style of surrealist instrumentals gave you an insight to his R.E.M. dreams which were applauded and received with grace by his musical peers, fans and press critics alike. click here to browse some of the reviews of the 2008 Dealmaker releases.
In November, as most of you may already know, disaster stuck as Pinnacle Distribution went into administration, which pretty much meant that the label staff and artists have worked their socks off this year for 0 financial remuneration, whilst in the same week getting flagged up by the Association of Independent Music in the top ten indy label success stories alongside XL and Rough Trade, both of whom are models of inspiration and admiration to us lot! And this was after receiving the D.I.Y. label of the week accolade from Radio 1's Huw Stephens. So, despite the turbulent times, the Hoods in the Woods collective will remain strong and continue to grow organically and expand operations however mighty the storms of 2009.
Oh, P.S. The Banksy image on the right isn't to intentionally make a dig at the consumer religion spending in their Millions on crap that they really don't need instead of music and arts just because it's slightly less expensive than last year due to a Rockefeller manufactured recession, no... it's because Enriqo Polatzo enlightened us to the way of Google spiders, in that the more words like Britney, Beckham, Boobies, Batman, Banksy, Banks and The New World Order that I can somehow squeeze into an article, the more people will stumble upon us, realize what a cool label we are and maybe buy a record!

There's no better way to escape the british summertime than to drift away with 'lemurian', the excellent new album from lone. Dusty snares rub alongside VHS fuzz, delicate melodies blend into dreamlike drops and low-end rumbles are taken back to the future. This is head nod music with a difference. "Don't let the coked-out 80s cover fool you; this is a serious step forward”
"Totally original and truly mesmerising" - Knowledge Mag
''Kaleidoscopic, shimmering hip-hop instrumentals from Lone that fill your ears with warm nostalgia and sails you away into a nebulae of opiated psychedelia. Superb, accomplished 17 track album for Dealmaker... Post-Dilla beats stumble amongst the emotive selection of samples - all lovingly selected and processed to provide a perfect seasonal soundtrack'' – Warpmart (Album of the Week)
“Lens Flare Lagoon conjures up the glistening, watery effect suggested by its name, and 'Buried Coral Banks' has a Boards Of Canada-meets-Jacques Cousteau feel that's hard not to love” – Boomkat (Album of the Week)
