COLD & KiT Basement Session , Dogma , 21/04/2005

The Basement Sessions were some very heavy shows.. down in the Dogma Dungeon, it became some kind of dark Hip Hop headbangers ball.. especially on this occasion. KiT opened up the ceremony with their infectious, relentless broken beats and stomach spewing basslines, before Children Of the Last Days took the stage and turned this ball into a scene from 'Dusk till Dawn'. Lorna's hauntingly angelic vocals showered the audience whilst Mantis and Dark Quartz slithered about the room rapping hypnotically until everybody fell into a tranced out state. as they did, their flows just gots faster and faster until there was enough energy to transfer through a metaphysical portal (which somehow developed near the entrance to the bogs) then everybody turned into dragons and Mantis started breating fire. It was a proper good night all round really..

The evening was also put on to promote the 'Control Arms' campagn on behalf of Amnesty International.

The campagn is to promote awarness of the lack of legislations within the arms trade which allows dealers to sell weapons to whomever they pretty much like.

An unusually exposed case of this was that of John Knight, a millionare living in London, who made £2million in a deal where arms and ammo found its way to the 'janja weed' militia (Darfur, Sudan) who are now responsible for the genocide of over 500,000 Humans, and leaving another 1.5 million in refuge..

John Knight managed to ship the components (largly made by british companies) via Yugoslavia to escape the europeon arms embargo. no one is responsible, everyone is silent..

Dealmaker Sicario (hired assain) Hugh Pascall spent a year in Paris sudying at the world renowned Conservatory, jamming and performing with some of the most asteemed Jazz musicians France has to offer. During his stay he put together the band Moon Matter, an experimental hybrid of of intense time changes, twisted solos and sweeping hooks..

Gza came all this way to see us so we got Rock City to put him on stage for the night. He was that made up he phoned Masta Killa to come down to kick up a mosh pit with him.
We thought he'd love it if we got his mate Duke 01 to bring his crew Non-Thespian along and DJ Mathematics and Dreddy Kruger came and smashed the place up as well.
