This is daydream music, you can't listen to it without going off somewhere. Personally, I slip into the daydream of being sucked into the 80s arcade game 'Outrun' and tearing around a looped pixellated parallel to Miami or some other palm-tree-avenued sea front, with Lemurian pumping out of the car stereo of course. - Bibio (Mush records)
"I like the freestyle vibe of beats and 90's charm of the grooves" Stereo MC's
"Like Boards of Canada with an extra scoop of codeine and better drums" Rustie
"Like Bob James playing in the lounge bar of a 1970's Las Vegas casino" Capoeira Twins

Dj Rubbish Armageddon Sessions Vol. 1
Cat no. DMRUBBI$H
Stabbing in the dark for credibility like a real blind man, Rubbish has somehow ensnared the production talents of Luke Vibert, Cassetteboy, Damian Taylor, Zetia, Dwyz and TheElementz among others. So unlike its shady predecessor, Armageddon Session Vol. II is fully legit and legal. At least it was, until he started slandering Martine McCutcheon and Steffi Graf (and advocating fare evasion on London buses).
In 2002 NME voted Rubbish 29th coolest person in Rock, an accolade which he has treated with deadly severity and consistently failed to live up to. His massively unsuccessful Soul Prolapse record label has hindered the careers of acts such as MC Cox, Nicky Spesh and the little known Nottingham rapper Cyrius One.
In a desperate bid for more credibility (record sales), Rubbish has teamed up with wanted political exile ‘Barry’ from Barry’s Bootlegs – home of Cassetteboy - for this unprecedented and poorly conceived joint label release. Armageddon Session Vol. II – Live From The Bunker is near on an hour of life you’ll never get back. Hold on to your face.
What they’re already saying:
“Honest, charming and very occasionally accurate, this is the funniest thing to come out of Peckham since Del-Boy fell through that bar. Do you remember that, when Del-Boy fell through the bar? Brilliant.” – Cassetteboy
“It’s the spiritual event of the millennium” – DJ Rubbish
“If it makes money, I want it. If it doesn’t, f**k him” – Barry Evans

"The shuffling breaks and jazzy atmosphere of tracks such as Simmer are expertly constructed" - Q Magazine
"First rate Hip Hop Jams on this debut from turntable whizz kid Red, which is guaranteed to see him elevate to the next level" - Knowledge magazine
"Red is rewriting the rule book for performing hip hop live" - London Tour Dates
"Often these albums come down to the power of the mantra and the skill of crate digging twinned with record selection. Red possesses all of these and a whole lot more" - Album of the month - Echoes Magazine

Red’s debut album, Fingerprints, is a masterpiece in instrumental hip hop production. Not only does the album advance the jazz styles of ATCQ, Gangstarr & Pete Rock, it solidifies Red as one of scratch music’s most recent innovative exponents – indeed nearly half of the tracks on the album are made entirely from scratching. From the drums to the melodies, each track is produced purely from turntable manipulation. These tracks, Samba Scratch, All’s Fair, Clock Watching, and Snow explore moods and techniques seldom heard in the scratch world, and demonstrate Red’s pioneering spirit.
check some press
Red can also be seen rocking UK underground stages with his band, Full Fat where he uses his turntable as the lead instrument amongst guitars, synths and live drums. expect amazing musicianship, wicked tunes and of course, sick turntablism,
“The sound created by the fusion of the guitars, drums and turntables must surely be one of the most diverse being produced by any artist in any genre in British music.” - bandidge.com
The Seen E.P. , which features the Kids in Tracksuits remix alongside the Full Fat live band version of the skratch anthem 'Seen', is also available on 12" and digital download:

Red Seen E.P.
Cat no. DMREDWL01
The new 12" consists of 4 versions of what is fast becoming a skratch anthem; as high street stores sold out of the initial 7” in the first 3 days, we've decided to release a 12” featuring 3 badass new and exclusive remixes;
The original version of Seen was created entirely by scratching - from the drums to the riffs to the melodies - everything is scratched. To see how this is done, check out the video on Red's myspace.
The Playsatan remix is a big electro dancefloor cut, a slice of which is to feature on the worldwide Sony PSP T.V./Cinema advertising campaign throughout 2008.
Full Fat is Red's live band. Initially the group formed to recreate Seen, along with a few other Red tunes to add to his live shows. Now the band has a sound and repertoire of its own. This 12" features a Full Fat version of Seen, recorded at Rockfield by Noizfabrik.
Red personally asked the zero cool Kids in Tracksuits to remix the track as he felt their style would suit the spirit of the tune, and a sterling job they did making the tune their own with their unmistakable style of fat, baggy basslines and melodic blips...

Red Seen 7
Cat no. DMRED701
There are still few copies left in the Dealmaker Shop of this LTD Edition 7"
The Seen 7” is a turntablist milestone that combines innovative turntablism with fresh rhythms, banging drums, and rasping electronic sound worlds. The release cohesively moulds hip hop, turntablism, and electro into a dirty, downtempo head nodder that is produced entirely from scratching – from the drums, to the riffs, to the solos – everything is scratched!
Following on from Seen is another electro banger, Baps, which mixes rhythmically complex programming with live turntablism – check out the turntable-harmonica solo at the end!
Red has achieved a sound and style from scratching that has pushed the perception and potential of the turntable as an instrument - winning acclaim from some of the scratch scene’s leading turntablists, Ricci Rucker, Mike Boo and D-Stylez
These innovative compositins also spawned Red’s band Full Fat, who formed initially to recreate tunes like Seen and Baps using the turntable as the lead instrument, along with live synths, drums, and guitar. This release can therefore be seen as the seed which flourished into one of the most exciting live acts out there.

Various The Departure Lounge vol. 1
Cat no. DMDLCD01
14 Track compilation/collaboration album.
Over 18 months in the making The Departure Lounge represents the sounds of the underground, floating through jazz, funk and electro beats, but all the while coming at you with a conscious Hip Hop undertone.
The style's aimed at a more live based soundscape and works in juxtaposition with the UK Duty Paid series of releases, showing the more chilled, laid back side to the labels ident.
We hope the Departure Lounge also represents Dealmaker as a whole, and provides a benchmark of where we're at now as a label, as well as showing where we've come from. Sit back and relax...
You have now entered The Departure Lounge.
Johnny Crump Broken Tracks & Dirty Music Mixtape Vol. 1
Cat no. DMJCMT01
The first of Johnny's public announcements... Overloaded with turntablism, production and blendin... Switch ups through styles and genres, switch downs through mood... This is light hearts prayin on the dark, gettin ripped to bits and smashed back together, they concieve and form a reborn... Very much one piece of art in its entirety... Basically... The tracks are broken and the music is dirty...
Johnny Crump would like to thank everybody he robbed bits from.

Sophie Johnson-Hill A New Dawn/Bounce Your Head
Cat no. DMSJHWL01
inspired by Nina Simones' classic 'Feelin good', A New Dawn brings about some home truths about an industry saturated with manufactured garbage. True say that the X-factor days are numbered, lets give the airwaves back to the talented artists who wanna give you, as chester P said 'something to feel..'
once again another banging production from dwyza up at viet cong, instrumentals and A cappella included.
Non-Thespian The Art Of Conflict EP
Cat no. DMNTWL01
Though Non-Thesp are deeply rooted in the old skool when it comes to styles, production and flows, this record is like an analoge to digital conversion. The concept takes on a seemingly prophtic orwellian vision turned reality of human life governed by institutions who are, as we know, part of the forces of darkness. bugs in the system? Non-Thesp are binary b-boys in a digital age.
Various UK Duty Paid Vol.1
Cat no. DMUKDP01
Released in 2003, UKDP was a showcase of Nottingham’s Hop-Hop scene as it was back then. This, Dealmaker's first release is a compilation album, and represented the many styles and wide array of talent we have within our city boundaries, reflected in the diverse and eclectic mix of sounds, vibes and emotions held within the album. From uplifting soulful tracks like “A New Dawn”, to the deep dark descriptions of Nottingham and the problems in the city as seen through the eyes of Robin Hoodz Project’s track “Notts Uncovered” UKDP brings together the largest group of Hip-Hop artists to come out of Nottingham, and maybe the UK on one album.
