LOWDOWN
Dealmaker Studios is hailed as the best recording facility in the midlands, located in the heart of Nottingham city centre on Broad Street, Hockley. As well as setting up and running the studio as engineers with an in-depth understanding of sound recording, we are also experienced musicians, allowing us to relate to and translate your musical ideas in to quality recordings. We thrive on being pushed by experimental and exciting projects, and pride ourselves on being able to offer infinite recording options on all sessions.  

CONTROL ROOM
The detailed, air-conditioned control room boasts hard-disk recording through 48 inputs and 48 outputs. Recording is put through a collection of outboard valve and tube technology, which is monitored through crystal clear high-res monitors, providing unbelievable clarity to any performance. With a detailed and individual headphone mix, and direct visibility from the live room, we can get it sounding exactly how you want throughout performance and playback.

LIVE ROOM
Dealmaker Studios prides itself on the 350 sq. feet of wooden floored live room. Having been recently refurbished, the space is designed to naturally produce awesome acoustic results, but as it’s required, we can tailor the variable acoustic treatment to best suit any project, which can ultimately achieve that tighter, cooler sound. The shape and size of the live room, combined with the wooden floors and plastered walls and ceiling, creates an immense sound for drums, and provides strings, guitars and acoustic instruments with a gloriously rich resonance. Suffice to say, this is the most distinctive live room in Nottingham; we along with all the artists who’ve recorded here absolutely love it.

FEATURES
Downstairs along side the Dealmaker Records office, we have the recreation room, kitchen and secondary live room used for anything from vocals and amps to percussion or horns. Here is the usual location of our new portable “flexi-booth”. Imported from Tokyo, the adjustable “flexi-booth” provides the perfect environment for dry vocals and even super tight sounding drums. As this room was part of the recent refurbishment, here we also boast the same wooden floors as the main room, with the option of drying things up if needed with plenty of acoustic treatment on the floors and walls. The recreation room provides a place to sit-back and take those well-earned breaks, where you can use the kitchen, watch TV, play Xbox, chess, kerplunk and buckaroo, use the Internet and chill. There’s also an enclosed smoking area in the courtyard. The Dealmaker label and its network are fully behind the promotion of independent artists and are resident in the building; so when you’re on a break, the Dealmaker shop is open to discuss releases, browse the back catalogue and buy merchandise.

HYPE
As another branch of the Dealmaker tree, the label is deeply affiliated with its geographical neighbour, the live music venue ‘Muse’. In our quest to promote independent music, Dealmaker offer the possibility of live shows for all musicians that come through our studio at this fantastic venue as part of our ‘Muse Live’ night, and also provide acts for the weekly ‘Word of Mouth’  night. Whatever the musical genre/style of your project, Dealmaker is the perfect place to get the best out of your studio time.
